Non-acceptable and Acceptable Items

Non-acceptable items for disposal include:
  • Tires
  • Paints
  • Furniture
  • Pesticides
  • Appliances
  • Liquids of all types
  • Automobile batteries
  • Motor oil or oil filters
  • Animal/human waste of any kind

If you would like to dispose of non-acceptable items, then you may do so properly at:

  • Northern Area Transfer Station: 3200 Warbro Road (off Genito Road)
  • Southern Area Transfer Station: 6700 Landfill Drive (off Iron Bridge Road)

Acceptable items for disposal include:

  • Non-hazardous household waste (e.g., cardboard, food remains, etc.)
  • Bags of grass and leaves (you may have two bags placed by the curb per week)
  • Branches (they must be less than 4 feet long and in bundles that are less than 1 foot in diameter)
  • Construction debris, such as wood, sheetrock, etc.
